Hello blogging world!
So… I don’t think we have had the pleasure of meeting! My name is Kelsey, and I am currently working on completing my B.A. in English from Drake University. Being a writer, I felt it only appropriate that I (finally) embrace the blogging world! “But wait! What is a ‘Phlyarologist?’” you may ask. Well, observant reader, a Phlyarologist is a “A person who speaks nonsense.” I stumbled across this hilarious noun at http://www.savethewords.org/, a website sponsored by Oxford, dedicated to “saving” the hundreds of words dropped from the English language every year. In this blog I will attempt to aid Oxford in their quest by using these wonderfully entertaining words in all of my posts. So, as a self-proclamed “phlyarologist” I intend to brighten your days with various post about whatever the hell I want, and hopefully improve your, as well as my own, vocabulary in the process.
